NERD NIGHTs 2026 SPECIAL
SPATIAL SOUND CONCERT IN DOM IM BERG | 12. February 2026 | doors open: 20h
IfSW and bigMAMA present:
RADIAN & MAHTAB MIANDEHI
Since the late '90s, RADIAN (Thrill Jockey) has been pushing the boundaries between abstract electronic sounds and acoustic instrumentation. Martin Brandlmayr (drums, electronics), Martin Siewert (guitars, lap steel, electronics), and Manu Mayr (bass) are placed in the centre of the room, the concert unfolds via the Dom im Berg's Ambisonics PA system as a highly precise, immersive sound experience.
As usual with Radian: uncompromising precision, pulsating reduction, and maximum spatial depth. An extraordinary spatial sound concert in a unique setting—entirely in keeping with the spirit of Nerd Nights.
MAHTAB MIANDEHI is a sound artist and violinist, with a focus on the convergence of performer/violinist and technological system. Her performance engages with this relationship through constraint-based composition, with an understanding of the source material as a form of agency and as a co-creator in the artistic process, particularly within the spatial system of Dom im Berg.
Alumynn piece is conceived around the intrinsic vitality of aluminium as both a resonant and responsive medium. Drawing on Jane Bennett’s concept of vibrant matter, Alumynn adopts the Thing-power of materials and their capacity for action. Aluminium here is understood as a form of agency and a co-creator in the artistic process.
